Quick answer

Stop charging it and stop using it. Don't press the screen back down and don't try to open the phone. Keep it somewhere cool, away from heat, and bring it in for a battery replacement. Don't mail it.

The signs

  • The screen lifts away from the frame, often at one edge.
  • The back bulges, or the phone rocks on a flat table.
  • The phone runs hot, or the battery drains fast.
